Welcome to the introductory article for the Board Builders Corner. This section is going to focus on what it takes to go from a wild eyed glassy stare as you paddle around waiting for a break to a complete board building business warts and all.

"Shiyeah", you're saying to yourself. Seen that, not interested.

Well maybe you should be and here is why.

I am going to take you through every step of a company’s transformation from a broad development consulting practice to a sport kite based product vendor one week at a time. Along the way you will be introduced to other board builders and related vendors both large and small.Some of the names may be well known to you while others only ever show up on shop invoices never to be seen in public.

The articles will tie in with the Board Builders forum section of this site to answer some questions and hopefully generate more.

LongBoardDirectory.com has many goals but my own vision for this section is to become a reference for board creation enthusiasts of all stripes. Why would I do that? I have a monkey on my back. I am the mad scientist that cannot leave well enough alone. I simply jones to learn and what better area to focus on than one that has so many rewards to offer.

I have had several companies before but this one is the keeper. This company is being built from the ground up to satisfy my wife, my family and myself.

Next Friday you will be introduced to an overview of the business plan and how it came to be. Spend the weekend kicking it over and thinking about your dream job.

Generally I plan on working over the articles during the week and posting on Friday's. This will give me my weekends with the family and pursuits while giving you something to mull over. During the week, send any questions you might have my way. I'll try to get back to as many as possible and will likely use some of the feedback to help generate future articles.
