What is the point of Longboard Directory? Longboard Directory is the "phone book" of the longboard industry. No other site has such a well-organized, comprehensive listing of companies and organizations. Our goal is twofold: 1) Promote longboarding as a whole 2) Strengthen and grow the international scene from the inside out by creating easy access for businesses to contact eachother. Our hope is that we will be able to put every known company "on the map", so that everyone has a fair chance to market themselves to the customer, as well as form partnerships with other companies. We hope to accomplish this by offering several product reviews and press releases, along with very low ad rates. The site is also a growing, global community, including galleries, live forums and tutorials and user reviews, written and composed by visitors, as well as our flexible, international volunteers and part-time staff. Who is the site geared towards? The site is geared towards anyone who is even remotely interested in longboard skateboarding, surfing or related sports. Aren't there enough forums and "longboarding sites" out there? First of all, no, there aren't enough longboarding sites out there, and secondly LongboardDirectory is entirely different than those that already exist. Our goal isn't to be the largest website or have the busiest forum. Our goal is to have the most useful and relevant information, along with easy, simple navigation. I can't find my link. What's going on? If you are not a longboard skate or surf manufacturer, your link will be under the most relevant category on our Links page. If you are a manufacturer, your link will be listed in our Longboards - Skate, or Longboards - Surf section. When I vote on a poll, it doesn't seem to count? We are currently using a straight HTML back-end on the site, except for our Forum. This means that votes, site stats and link submissions are not live, but they are updated at least once a week, if not daily. We will be implementing another system sometime in the near future. Who writes the articles and reviews? Official Reviews and Press Releases are usually written by Chris Rempel, the main editor of the Directory. There are 3 other part-time staff members, and several other volunteer staff on a world-wide spectrum, with others being added frequently. However, we will publish any acceptable, non-spam review or other press release. Several others have already submitted their articles, and they were published within the day. This is what keeps the Directory current, informative and objective. How can I get my stuff published? Submit your press release, review, riding discipline or basically any other interesting story or event to submit@longboarddirectory.com, or use our contact form. Why does the form keep on saying "Error"? Make sure you fill in every required field with valid information. Your email address must be a real email address. If this does not solve the problem, contact us directly here. We're working on it... hopefully we'll have search capabilities early next year...
Thank you for your support in building the largest and most comprehensive Longboard Skate and Surf resource online.
