LongboardDirectory.com enables several companies to sell their products to a much larger audience than they might have available to them on their own website.

LongboardDirectory.com acts as a "Value added reseller", which works like this:

1. LBD sells items at retail price plus shipping

2. LBD transfers order information and wholesale price plus shipping to Supplier, while also transferring Supplier contact information to the Customer.

3. Supplier assumes responsibility for the order (and is under contract to fulfill it)

4. Supplier ships item to the customer.

The supplier benefits from more sales volume, building brand awareness and developing a customer base.

The customer benefits by being able to conveniently order unique items from a central location, while being able to make a secure purchase through LongboardDirectory.com's binding agreement with its suppliers.

The store (LongboardDirectory.com) benefits by producing additional revenue to support the site's activities and hosting fees, as well as promoting and expanding the sport of longboarding.

So, in essence our store is much like Ebay or Amazon.com, as we facilitate selling between Supplier's under contract and you, the Customer.

Why do I have to use a PayPal account to buy anything on the site?

PayPal is a completely secure way of sending funds via the internet, and it's instant. You can pay through PayPal using your credit card or bank account.

For the ease of transactions for all parties involved, LongboardDirectory.com chooses to use PayPal for all of its store operations.

Can't I just pay with my credit card?

You can pay with your credit card through PayPal easily - even if you don't have a PayPal account.

Is it safe to pay for stuff online? How can I be sure?

PayPal currently hosts about 80 million accounts, and uses military grade security features on a secure server (https:// is used to signify "secure").

Our suppliers are under legal contract to fulfill all orders. You can view the Supplier - LBD agreement here.

As well, PayPal offers up to $1200 in buyer protection.

When does my order get shipped out? How long does it take to arrive?

Your order will be shipped out no later than 3 business days from date of purchase.

If the item is custom-built (built to order), then it will be shipped out no later then 10 business days from date of purchase.

Arrival of the item will depend on your location, and whether you purchased shipping by air or surface. Either way, we will supply you with a tracking number from the Supplier as soon as the product ships.

What about returns or refunds?

All returns or refunds are worked out with the supplier; LongboardDirectory.com does not facilitate this process.

However, the buyer is protected from late shipments, non-shipment, incorrect items and product damage as per the Supplier contract with LBD.

What guarantees do I have?

When you buy something from the LongboardDirectory store, you are actually buying it directly from the Supplier themselves.

However, the Supplier is under contract to deliver goods as ordered within the alloted time, and if violated, the Supplier will face penalties such as loss (refunding full price at their expense), legal action and of course, removal from the LongboardDirectory store and website.

Suppliers are interviewed, audited and researched prior to approval for LBD's value-added-reselling retail front. Our goal is to give the people (customers) what they want, and get it there as quickly as possible.

Examples:

1. Supplier takes longer than 3 business days to ship out item. Action: Supplier must refund buyer with the retail price plus shipping, unless buyer chooses to wait or negotiate for a greater order value in their favour.

2. Supplier ships item on time, but ships incorrect goods. Action: Supplier must refund buyer with the retail price plus shipping, unless buyer chooses to: a) keep the incorrect goods. b) negotiate for additional goods for a reduced cost or no cost c) arrange another option at his/her discretion within reason.

3. Supplier ships item, but item is lost or damaged. Action: Supplier must arrange for the refund for the buyer, which will amount to the full retail price plus shipping. Supplier is required under contract to insure the shipped item(s) for no less than the retail price of item(s), as this sort of situation, though rare, is inevitable.

4. Supplier fails to ship item altogether. Action: Supplier must refund buyer with the retail price plus shipping within 3 business days of violation. If the Supplier fails to do this, LongboardDirectory.com will take legal action on the supplier until the situation is resolved, in the interests of customer support and fair treatment.

5. Supplier ships item 'ground' when 'air' shipping was purchased. Action: Supplier must refund buyer the difference in shipping (air - ground) within 3 business days of violation, along with a 50% rebate on goods purchased at retail.

Why can't I contact each individual Supplier for the products?

In exchange for marketing, promoting, creating more revenue and hosting for the Supplier's products on LongboardDirectory.com, we take a small percentage of profits for our service.

This would not be possible if you contacted the supplier directly*.

All necessary Supplier contact information will be provided immediately after a purchase is made for a specific product or products.

*Some of our Suppliers may have an affiliation tracking system, whereby no re-selling is necessary. Profits are calculated on their end, and the transaction takes place in full on the Supplier's website. Items sold in this manner will not have a "Buy" link or an "Add to Cart" option, but rather will labeled as "Buy Direct".

I manufacture longboards or longboard-related gear. How do I get my stuff on the site?

If you are manufacturing a large volume of products, you must be able to ship all items within 3 business days of order. You must also have an active PayPal account, and be able to legally enter a contractual agreement with LongboardDirectory.com, a subsidiary of a Canadian company.

If your goods are custom-built or built to order, you must be able to ship all items within 10 business days of purchase. Exceptions may be made for certain goods that require more time to build, but will be solidified by seperate contract.

If you meet this criteria, then go to the Supplier Information page, read it over, and then click on the "Agreement" link at the bottom of the page and submit it.

I distribute or represent longboards or longboard related gear. How can I get involved with the LBD store?

LongboardDirectory will welcome all distributor, dealer or agent inquiries for increasing sales volume and exposure.
